Hon. Musa Jimoh of Yagba East Constituency emerges House Committee Chairman on Information, Strategy and Publicity


… As Kogi Assembly Condemned attacks on Isanlu First Bank and Police Station.


Hon. Musa Jimoh aka Omiata is a second term member representing Yagba East State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, now appointed as the Chairman House Committee on Information, Strategy and Publicity.

Speaking at the opening plenary session of the second year of the 7th assembly, the Speaker of the Kogi State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole congratulated members for the successful completion of the first session.

He said it is in their tradition as a house to dissolve House Committees and reconstitute new one to work for the second session.

He charged members to put more efforts in discharging their constitutional responsibility to make good laws that will promote good governances in Kogi State.

He announced Hon. Musa Jimoh as the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Publicity, while Hon. Prince Collins Hillarion as the Vice Chairman, other members includes, Hon. Alewo Ujah Anthony, Hon. Ahmed Lawi Mohammed, Hon. Daniya Ranyi and Hon. Kilani Olumo Olushola

In another related development the
Kogi State House of Assembly has condemne the attack on a first generation bank and a Police Station in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area.

This is following a motion of Urgent Public Importance moved by the member representing Yagba East Constituency, Alhaji Jimoh Musa Omiata and seconded by Mr. Aderonke Aro of Yagba West.

Alhaji Jimoh in his word stated that “the House condemns the heinous crime that lead to the death of some indigenes, law enforcement agents and commiserates with the entire people of Isanlu community and Yagba East over the painful loss.”

He further noted that ” I call on the Kogi State Government, the Nigerian Police Force and other relevant security agencies to ensure that all the perpetrators of this nefarious and heinous crime are arrested, to face necessary prosecution and judgement.”

According to him, security of lives and property has been focused on rural area, stressing the need for more policing at the grassroots level.

“the House commends the prompt intervention of the State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the high powered delegation led by the State Deputy Governor for on the spot assessment of the situation in Isanlu.

The House appeals to the youths of the Area to remain calm, and cooperate with the security agencies with useful information that will assist and prevent future occurrence”

The Speaker in his ruling announced the constitution of a seven man ad-hoc Committee to visit the State Commissioner of Police over the death of his men at Isanlu as well as the family of the owner of Chuks Supermarket, Nicholas Ofidile.
